Samosas, dumplings and crisps that travel well, and how to keep them crisp.

Start with what you have

The best quick meal is the one you can make without thinking. Keep a few cups in the cupboard and a handful of fresh things in the fridge, and dinner is never far away.

Add something fresh

A squeeze of lime, a few herbs or a soft-boiled egg change a quick meal more than any sauce.

  • Spring onions keep for a week in a glass of water.
  • Frozen peas and spinach go straight in.
  • A spoon of chilli crisp fixes almost anything.

Eat well, often

Fast does not have to mean empty. Every meal we make carries real vegetables and proper protein.

Good food is the food you actually have time to eat.
